The Trinamool Congress (TMC) lawmaker arrived at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in the Salt Lake area around 1 pm. The premises of the MLA from Sreerampur in Hooghly district, apart from that of some others, was also searched by the ED on Tuesday. Roy was asked to appear at the ED office in Kolkata on Thursday. Apart from questioning, some phones seized are to be opened in his presence, the sources said.

TMC MLA Sudipto Roy appeared before the ED in Kolkata on Thursday for questioning in a money-laundering case linked to alleged financial irregularities at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, official sources said. Roy is president of the West Bengal Medical Council and also holds charge of the RG Kar Patients' Welfare Committee. He was earlier questioned by the CBI, which is also probing into the alleged irregularities.

To mitigate the hunger of drought ridden people, these African states have decided to cull huge number of Elephants and feed its hungry people. The situation is disgraceful and primitive for the humanity of this 21st century. Culling for regular food habits is utterly different from this. We, the 140 crore Indians can lend our support to these unfortunate people of Africa. For the purpose, Indian Govt. may appeal to the public to donate the cost of at least one day food in a designated account or fund. Our beloved Prime Minister can send food items to those unfortunate African people on behalf of 140 crore Indians utilizing the collected amount. All Indians would be proud to save the humanity from a heinous crime to happen towards helpless animals. This people movement may prove to be an eye opener on deteriorating climate across the world and work for corrections.
