When will this tax terrorism stop ? My father served the nation for over 40 years in army , His income was taxed , now he is on pension which is again being taxed , My mother saved up money from the already taxed income which she deposited in her account which again got taxed , There is so much Efficiency in taxing the middle class section then why that efficiency is not seen in other areas which can genuinely help the people

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), drowning causes around 3,00,000 deaths worldwide annually. In this context, Goa, India’s smallest state, stands out for achieving a remarkable feat over the past 16 years - a 99% reduction in drowning - success no other Indian coastal state has matched. With an average yearly tourist footfall of nearly 8 million, the Goa government’s introduction of Drishti Marine, a private lifesaving agency, in 2008, has resulted in over 8,000 lives saved from drowning since. In the past 16 years, only 97 coastal drownings have been recorded, compared to 200 in 2007 alone. Drishti Marine’s Goa model, implemented through skilled lifeguards, AI technology, and an expertly trained rescue dog squad, can serve as a template for other coastal states to reduce drowning deaths. This successful initiative deserves a mention in Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ series.

Septic tank cleaners not infrequently are seen to lose their lives while at work due to inhalation of toxic gases. Our engineering institutions must be encouraged to develop affordable robotic technologies and human service fromthis job need to be phased out expeditiously so that no lives are lost in the septic tanks in India.

2.Psychology must be taught in school curriculum and also in all PG courses, and at UG level in medical courses. It is part of MBBS curriculum in many foreign universities. Not in India. Medical students are being taught psychiatry (manifestations of psychopathology) without being taught psychology. There is an ovreremphasis on IQ and no education on importance of Emotional Quotients and Social quotients. This may be changed.
