Namaste Pradhan Mantri ji, My request pertains to creating a repository to collect the inspiring stories of freedom fighters who have been not so well documented on their roles and contributions during the freedom struggle. It will not be surprising to know most of Indians has a story about their forefathers who have silently contributed in our freedom movement. Every family may have such a ancestor who contributed their service in their own capacity. To narrate a story of my ancestor called Ayyappa Hiremath from shantagiri family of Hirealagundi village Gadag district, karnataka state was a Kharabhari (Chief administrator) of shantagiri desai or Itagi desai. His inspiring heroic deeds are orally been presented in our family as such like 1. He helped Chapekar brothers in lending shelter during their run aftermath assassinating W. C. Rand. It is been told to us that he rendered them shelter for 3 months in and around Hirealagundi village on request by Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
