Our Country should recognise and refer Saint Gonsalo Garcia as "Bharitya Maha Sant".

Brief overview of the life and times of St. Gonsalo Garcia:
*Born on 6th February 1557 in Bassein, India (now Vasai, Maharashtra) to a Portuguese father and an Indian mother.
*Studied at the Jesuit College in Bassein.
*Sent to Japan as a missionary in 1580.
*Gonsalo Garcia was arrested in 1593 and was executed by crucifixion at Nagasaki on February 5, 1597.
*Beatified in 1627 & Canonized as a saint by Pope Pius IX in 1862.
*Gonsalo Garcia was fluent in several languages, including Marathi, Portuguese, Spanish and Japanese.
*He was known for his kindness, humility, and devotion to his faith.
