My Design Concept (Layer-wise Explanation)
My solution focuses on reducing knee stress and shock while climbing stairs, using a simple, wearable, and affordable design.
Design Structure:
Foot → EVA Foam → Rubber Shock Pads → Rigid Support Plate → Anti-slip Rubber Base
Explanation of Each Layer:
1. EVA Foam (Comfort Layer)
o Provides cushioning and comfort.
o Reduces direct pressure on the foot and knee joints.
o Lightweight and widely used in footwear for shock absorption.
2. Rubber Shock Pads
o Absorb impact during each step.
o Minimize the shock transferred to the knees while climbing.
o Especially useful for elderly people with joint pain.
3. Rigid Support Plate
o Ensures even weight distribution.
o Prevents uneven bending of the foot.
o Provides stability while stepping on stairs.
4. Anti-Slip Rubber Base (Grip Layer)
o Prevents slipping on stairs.
o Provides strong grip on different surfaces.
o Increases confidence while climbing up or down
