The drop in eligible voters after SIR is not just due to removing fake voters—it signals a deeper crisis. Many genuine voters are disengaging due to complex procedures, lack of accessibility, and growing frustration with the system. In Kerala, repeated shifts between LDF and UDF have not delivered meaningful change. This has led to political fatigue among voters. At the same time, the continued leadership of Pinarayi Vijayan despite serious allegations has damaged public trust. More concerning is the perception that the Bharatiya Janata Party is not taking a strong stand. Whether true or not, this belief is pushing voters away. Kerala voters are aware and expect integrity. If BJP wants to grow, it must act decisively against corruption, rebuild trust, and re-engage voters. Otherwise, the opportunity may be lost.
