8-wheeled (BVZI) brake vans are designed to achieve comfort level equivalent to loco criteria for goods guard. These brake van are 5 meter longer than BVZC brake van and 3.76 meter than a BCN wagon with tare of 23.5 tones and zero pay load. At the same time, WDG4D (4500 HP) locomotive for freight service are operational with total length 23.4 meter including Dual cab (2.2 meter each) and tare 123 tones. Therefore, it is suggested to consider changes in design of 8-wheeled (BVZI) brake vans to utilize middle portion of BVZI for loading of material with dual cab (3 meter each)at each ends on the lines of WDG4D locos. Since, Railway loads about 1100 rakes per day , with the suitable design changes Railway can enhance its per day loading by 30000 to 40000 of tones equivalent to 10- 15 rakes without any major investments in lines, tracks, wagons, locos and in fuel etc.
