The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation is pleased to inform you that our city has been selected through a competitive process for Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). In the next phase, our city has to compete with 98 other cities to make it to the top 20 to be taken up for first round of funding, for year 2015-16.

The city needs to formulate a vision, mission and a proposal in consultation with citizens and other stakeholders. We urge you to share your ideas and be an integral part of the journey towards making Vizag a smart city!

“My Visakhapatnam of Tomorrow” – A vision Competition

• The question you need to answer is “What is your vision for Vizag smart city”?
• Maximum word limit – 100 words.

The best 3 Vision Statements would be declared as winners.

The competition shall be closed on 1st November, 2015.

Prize Money (Cash / Vouchers / Gift items):

• 1st Prize: INR 10,000/-
• 2nd Prize: INR 6,000/-
• 3rd Prize: INR 4,000/-
• Consolation Prizes (25 nos.): INR 1,000/- each

All the entries must be submitted online through https://mygov.in.

Terms and Conditions

1. All participants must clearly mention following details in their entries:

• Name
• Mother’s Name
• Father’s Name
• Address
• Age
• Contact number (with area code)

2. The winner will be chosen on the basis of simplicity of thought, realism in ideas, and originality in content.

3. The decision of GVMC on selection of top three winners and consolation prize winners shall be final. GVMC officials can participate in the competition but will not be eligible for rewards.

vizag to be a smart city every one say that to give more fund improve the city.but we have to improve the infrastructure.There is no neat drainage system,the beach which is located in vizag is not clean and the shore shuld be clean,the municipal government is not taking necessary duties like taking garbage from streets,cleanning the roads,maintaining 24hs supply of water and electricity in the city.they should make a hub for tourism.free pollution control,traffic free,green city and free wifi.

I think that it should be cleaned properly. every person even if he is not from vizag, should follow the rules here. saving fuels is very important.

pollution free,increasing of tourist spots ,increasing transportation like increase in number of buses and trains ,new rail tracks for local trains,construction of bridges and fly overs,a 24/7 supply of water and electricity,increase in education standards in all formats from kinder garden to university level and decrease in fee,implimentation of public toilets,plantation,a conmplete wifi to the whole city,taking more security measures, make vizag as a base for it hub #visakhapatnam,#smartcity

I envision Vizag to be a city of Opportunities for all age groups in various sectors. I wish this city to be a place for peaceful and healthy living, technologically and economically growing and in a position to significantly support our State's and Country's growth. Polluted free city Agriculture at priority Drainage system should be improved Coastal line especially beaches should be clean and developed as tourist spots Water supplied and vegetables,fruits etc.
