The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation is pleased to inform you that our city has been selected through a competitive process for Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). In the next phase, our city has to compete with 98 other cities to make it to the top 20 to be taken up for first round of funding, for year 2015-16.

The city needs to formulate a vision, mission and a proposal in consultation with citizens and other stakeholders. We urge you to share your ideas and be an integral part of the journey towards making Vizag a smart city!

“My Visakhapatnam of Tomorrow” – A vision Competition

• The question you need to answer is “What is your vision for Vizag smart city”?
• Maximum word limit – 100 words.

The best 3 Vision Statements would be declared as winners.

The competition shall be closed on 1st November, 2015.

Prize Money (Cash / Vouchers / Gift items):

• 1st Prize: INR 10,000/-
• 2nd Prize: INR 6,000/-
• 3rd Prize: INR 4,000/-
• Consolation Prizes (25 nos.): INR 1,000/- each

How to Submit

All the entries must be submitted online through https://mygov.in.

Terms and Conditions

1. All participants must clearly mention following details in their entries:

• Name
• Mother’s Name
• Father’s Name
• Address
• Age
• Contact number (with area code)

2. The winner will be chosen on the basis of simplicity of thought, realism in ideas, and originality in content.

3. The decision of GVMC on selection of top three winners and consolation prize winners shall be final. GVMC officials can participate in the competition but will not be eligible for rewards.

Visakhapatnam a City of Destiny, Port City, Steel City, is the largest city in the State of AndhraPradesh, India and also the third largest city on the East Coast of India, often called as 'The Jewel of the East Coast'. Visakhapatnam is going to be a Smart City. Government should maintain basic premises. They should provide good infrastructure and basic facilities to people living. It is know to be a better tourism hub should maintain that and try to improve more.Vizag city is a green city

according to me smart city should be capable of providing all facilities to the citizens in a smarter way such as: implementing wind wanes in hilly areas of vizag for producing wind energy so that city can capable of producing power in an altrenative and smart way small solar panels should be provided to street lights to save power as it is a smart city free wifi should be provided atleast in public areas such as railway stations etc which is there in chennai now.
