The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation is pleased to inform you that our city has been selected through a competitive process for Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). In the next phase, our city has to compete with 98 other cities to make it to the top 20 to be taken up for first round of funding, for year 2015-16.

The city needs to formulate a vision, mission and a proposal in consultation with citizens and other stakeholders. We urge you to share your ideas and be an integral part of the journey towards making Vizag a smart city!

“My Visakhapatnam of Tomorrow” – A vision Competition

• The question you need to answer is “What is your vision for Vizag smart city”?
• Maximum word limit – 100 words.

The best 3 Vision Statements would be declared as winners.

The competition shall be closed on 1st November, 2015.

Prize Money (Cash / Vouchers / Gift items):

• 1st Prize: INR 10,000/-
• 2nd Prize: INR 6,000/-
• 3rd Prize: INR 4,000/-
• Consolation Prizes (25 nos.): INR 1,000/- each

How to Submit

All the entries must be submitted online through https://mygov.in.

Terms and Conditions

1. All participants must clearly mention following details in their entries:

• Name
• Mother’s Name
• Father’s Name
• Address
• Age
• Contact number (with area code)

2. The winner will be chosen on the basis of simplicity of thought, realism in ideas, and originality in content.

3. The decision of GVMC on selection of top three winners and consolation prize winners shall be final. GVMC officials can participate in the competition but will not be eligible for rewards.

As we are moving a step ahead to smart city more slum clearance projects should be started,proper drainage systems,maintenance of public bathrooms,proper traffic management,number of bus-stations should be increased,we also look forward for industrial development,more shopping malls,theatres,hotels,botanical gardens,As beach is one of the sceanic beauty of vizag maintenance should be increased.

1) Our city should have underground drainage system, clean roads and enough public toilets. Public toilets can be constructed and maintained with sponsorship of local businessmen as part of their social responsibility. 2) Beggar homes should be constructed and poor feeding done with the help of philanthropists. 3) Highway traffic to be regulated with modern signalling systems and patrolling to minimize accidents.
