Suggest smart solutions for solving traffic problems. The solutions may include but not limited to use of innovative digital technologies, administrative and architectural solutions and design of workflows which may be used for solving the problems mentioned in the contest. All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. Questions 1. Suggest one smart solution and/or innovative technology for conveniently dealing with traffic congestion outside your home. 2. One motorcar carries 4 people comfortably; one public bus carries 40 people comfortably. How can a smart city balance the needs of the car and the bus? 3. How can travelling by bus in your city become safer and more comfortable with the use of innovative technologies and smart solutions? Entry Deadline • Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015. Evaluation The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria: • Do-ability (50%) • Innovation (50%) Award Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts: • Rs. 40,000 - First PrizeRs. 25,000 - Second Prize The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot • All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. • The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only. • The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less. Proper trafic lites must be installed lane discipline has to be followed and use of indicators is a must Helmets are to be made compulsory all over India better equipment for response temas in case of accidents is a must and police should be provided with helicopters to chase the colprets

Truks should not be overfilled with goods and specific timings mist be kept for them to operate within All vehicles used for transportation and goods must be allowed operation time of 5-8 yrs max Heavy penalties must be collected Speed limits must be mentioned and followed and traffic cameras at signals and highways must be installed People responsible for rash driving and killing inoscent people must be jailed for 15 years with cancelling their liscence with no bail and provide compenstai

Ans 1: Create a mobiel app for companies situated in indtustrial are like Infosys,TCS,WIPRO where employees strength is in thounsands. this application is used to provide lift to fellow worker of the comapny.If person having one car give lift then it will reduce 3 peoples(3 vehicle) Ans2:- Public transportation should bus frequency should be more and routes shoudl also be vast in order to reduce personal vehicle usage. Rules for buses and trucks to stick to the extreme left of the road introduce biodiesel buse for cleaner india make strick laws for getting driving licence and exams for testing road side sign boards better police vehicles so they can arrive on site in time introduce solar powered lamps for streets and increase no of street lamps all heavy vehicles should have proper indicators headlights which are working and all heavy vehicles should have atleast 2 yellow coloured beacons

Change in office hours for pvt and pulblic employees. Even 1/2 of consistent differnce will help. More stringent rules on lane driving Rules on scarping of old vehicles which runs on road. Higher fines and stringent check on polution check on vehicles. If possible. One home one car. To owe a second car higher taxes on purchase.

Because of major traffic and lower oil prises there can be usage of oil on high scale on unusual purpose.Therefore we can reduce imports of oil by building better road infrastructure to reduce traffic and invest that money in any other sector.This should be done on large scale for long term benefits for climate and also for the needs of people.

Q1. Constructing more rotaries in intersections of heavy 2 way traffic can be beneficial, saves the need to place traffic lights & reduces the risk of accidents, Green channeling the existing traffic lights for systematic clearance of traffic, constructing flyovers in critically congested routes to avoid head on collisions & smooth movement of vehicles. Construction of subways for public use in areas of large intersections to avoid setting up traffic lights for pedestrians.

Q2 answer-buses and cars should be digitalised.Any buses or car coming inside the smart cities should have proper smoke detector to avoid smoke pollution.

Create underground subways in front of every major railway station. Make every railway crossing a subway so that traffic moves unhindered. Install traffic lights and remove traffic police from duty throughout the country.
