4)Secure for commute (CCTV and guards) 5)Prompt. Buses should ply on scheduled time without delay 6)A mobile app can be launched for all government operated bus stand details and bus timings. Mobile app should allow to search bus stand based on pin code and other options. User can download relevant bus stand information off-line once connected to internet. Above steps will restore people's trust in public transport and they will use it more often leading to less vehicles on road. 2/2

Government can play important role in resolving traffic problem in large cities by taking steps which will result in less people owning their vehicle and less people entering in driving profession. A robust public transport(Metros, local trains and buses) is a key to problem. Public transport should, 1)Cover large number of popular destinations in city 2)be reliable (Buses should not break down in commute). Vehicle servicing should be done on time. 3)pocket friendly for middle class. 1/2

One way road and separate line for buses and passenger car. Speed limit must be fixed for vehicles. Two floor buses. Less traffic signal, three way traffic signal to be used instead of 4 ways point.

For better traffic control in delhi or other hustle bustle area, the main required is alertness of traffic police. Because people have become fearless and they break rules frequently, people don't have sense of driving. If people move correctly on road there is no need of police also. I think this problem can only be solved by stictness like in other countries (eg.USA). I personally thinks that there is no need of technology in this only the need is to increase the rate of fine(chalan)

Reducing the number of private vehicles on the roads in cities should be one of the policies to adopt - some countries have `no go` areas for vehicular movements where only pedestrians are allowed. This would go a long way in reducing pollution.

Hi Sir, I am an NRI living in Singapore which has world's best transport system.I am an IT guy a d we can adopt the same system in smart cities. 80% of Singapore uses public transport so public transport should be robust and easily accessible and convenient for the public then only they would use it.Singapore gov't discourage people to use private transport and for doing so they adopted few measures. If given chance I can provide best possible options for smart cities Thanks Sanjay Istwa

#MeraShaharMeraSapna QN NO 3: Proper maintenance schedules must be made available to public through mobile app. Proper time management should be maintained. Deploy security cameras in buses and centrally monitor them. All the buses are connected with GPS. Through mobile app, public can track buses.

#MeraShaharMeraSapna QN NO 2; Car pooling mobile app should be created for each smart city. Members should share details of their car journey through mobile app to attract co-passengers to join the journey. Food waste to gas can power every bus. Plastic oil (from city waste) can be used as fuel for buses. So, operating costs become cheap.

Suggestion#1: Heavy vehicles should be avoided in residential areas. If not avoidable, permit them in specific time period only. Traffic department to be corruption free and work for residents. Suggestion#2: Plan public transport balance for business hours, shopping hours and ensure public transport coverage/connectivity on given time to that specific areas. Regulate private vehicle usage once adequate public transport is provided. Suggestion#3: CCTV camera with live streaming, SOS on bus.
