1. By increasing the number of lanes (of major roads) in one direction while decreasing in the opposite direction according to the time of the day (office going / returning traffic). 2. If the bus seats are comfortable (like a car) and guarantee a timely ride (with smart navigation of traffic), more people will prefer a bus to a car. 3. Luxury buses already ply for inter-state services. By managing the traffic smartly a timely ride in bus can be ensured-e.g., dedicated hi-speed bus lanes.

Hi, Traffic is one major problem in Bangalore City and through out the major cities of INDIA. Based on my knowledge & observations, I am suggesting few points: 1. Install GPS in all the BMTC buses which helps us know where the traffic is more so that bus can take some other route. 2. One main disadv of Major cities including Bangalore most of the people use their Car and only persn travls in it causng lot of trafic 3. Implement end to end Metro Trains in Bangalore 4. Build more Fly overs.

technology could be one smart and integrated solutions for traffic hassels; a bio metric device just like RFD(radio frequency device) can be introduced and configure with the passenger vehicles 2 or 4 which should be linked with the main server of traffic police head quarters. any vehicle breaking signals, exceeding speed, or involving any traffic violations the device will report to the server with its registration number. the device will navigate locations of vehicle through gprs software

Question 2/3: Create a Pubic Transport app: give details of nearest bus(by bus nbr) and estimated time to arrive. Also help find shortest route to place including multiple bus/train route. Provide SOS button in app. On press, will notify police with bus gps, persons details, start microphone on phone so police can listen. There can be cost to the SOS call (billed by phone carrier) so that there are no prank calls.

Qts 2: In rush hour traffic, reserve 1 lane in multi-lane highways for buses or vehicles with more than 3 people in it. This will incentivise people to use bus & car pool with others. Install gps sensor on buses. Use this location info to provide commuters with timings for next bus by phone/digital display at bus stand Qts 3: Smart buses with microphone sensors. If noise level goes beyond certain decibals (eg: if someone is shouting for help or there is a fight), notify police with bus location

Question 1: Install speed sensors at critical traffic locations all over city. These sensors will capture average speed of vehicles at any moment in time. This data can then be used to deduct routes with traffic jams and commuters alerted by mobile app/sms. Sudden drop in average speed of traffic would indicate accidents. So cops/traffic cranes can be dispatched immediately. Alternately instead of sensors, GPS enabled mobile app can also be used to capture traffic data. #MeraShaharMeraSapna

3. Since in the buses the mostly faced problem is the rude people, to counter this one person who along with the driver and conductor i.e a trained personal on behalf of the government shall be deployed who shall take care of the security of women. Since it's not feasable to have police on the bus but a similarly trained government security guard who shall have powers to take action against people who misbehave in the bus should be deployed who shall work in shifts from morning till night.

2. The government should make a rule that to have a car in a family a person should have atleast two persons in the family and cannot have more than one car if his family has 4 members or less so that the number of cars on the road reduce and the usage of the buses increase and hence reduce the traffic.
