How can the latest advances in digital technologies, including use of mobile phones, big data analytics and other information technology solutions be deployed in Smart Cities. The entries may be in descriptive answer types and may use pictures or videos to explain the answers better.
All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
Questions
1. List three municipal services that can be improved with the use of a mobile phone.
2. Describe 3 aspects of your daily life that have improved with the use of the mobile phone.
3. Suggest 5 ways in which the use of big data can make Indian cities into smart cities.
4. Mention 3 new ways that information technology can improve Governance.
5. How can access to information and data make our public spaces safe and secure?
Entry Deadline
• Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015.
Evaluation
The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:
• Do-ability (50%)
• Innovation (50%)
Award
Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts:
Rs. 40,000 - First Prize
Rs. 25,000 - Second Prize

The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot

• All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
• The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only.
• The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less.

Like now we get e-tickets in railway, we should get all other documents electronically so that we don't need to carry more papers. Use of Information Technology is very useful for the governance services. People are going to know the latest technologies to complete their work in proper time in a smart way with out finding any difficulties. most of them are waiting in the queues for filling the forms from the government sector. Smart Phone App to report Crime: Register using mobile number to report crime. Location based crime can be reported immediately using this app and police station in the nearby location can be alerted and quick action can be taken by police. Crime can be reported by any person. This can prevent rapes, kidnappings etc.. Trust this helps

Web and mobile platforms to let residents report incidents on nearly any type of public space, including roads, sidewalks, paths, bridges, tunnels, parks and playgrounds.Residents can enter the incident’s address and describe its location on a map, then sign up to get updates on the problems resolution.RTI can be adhered to this system so that government bodies can become more accountable and common man gets the ability to directly access and question development related data in public domain.

Dear All, I would like to develop a software for Defense to protect our nations's border by using satellite information and tracking heat emission from living body to identify intruders coming across our country from other side. This application would be very helpful for our nation securities and for BSF. I would also like to develop small fling device like very small bird to spy across the border.

1.(a). The wifi can be used in the smart cities to connect doctors of municipal hospitals to the patient in any case of emergency. The treatment can be provided through video conferencing by doctors. (b). There should be an app through which any citizen can click pictures of the damages that have to be repaired on the roads and can tag his location with the picture using GPS.the complaint can directly be stored and accesed through municipal database.
