How can the latest advances in digital technologies, including use of mobile phones, big data analytics and other information technology solutions be deployed in Smart Cities. The entries may be in descriptive answer types and may use pictures or videos to explain the answers better.
All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
Questions
1. List three municipal services that can be improved with the use of a mobile phone.
2. Describe 3 aspects of your daily life that have improved with the use of the mobile phone.
3. Suggest 5 ways in which the use of big data can make Indian cities into smart cities.
4. Mention 3 new ways that information technology can improve Governance.
5. How can access to information and data make our public spaces safe and secure?
Entry Deadline
• Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015.
Evaluation
The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:
• Do-ability (50%)
• Innovation (50%)
Award
Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts:
Rs. 40,000 - First Prize
Rs. 25,000 - Second Prize

The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot

• All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
• The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only.
• The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less.

Municipal services can improve if -- 1. Property/water tax bill are sent by SMS and can be paid online. 2. Citizens can be informed by SMS their birth/death certificate is ready. 3. People can complain by mobile where garbage needs to be removed and road need to be repaired.

Q.2 Ans:- (1)By creating whatsapp group with police with area public to get connected. (2)Making A one Mobile portal which connect people with government via Mobile. (3)Paper base formalities should be done by Mobile phone to get fast response.

Corruption is still the biggest problem in India. I suggest there shall be a blackbox kind of gadget (as we have in flights) installed in government offices which can be periodically monitored by officials. By which government servants will be more dedicated and honest towarda their work.

The concept of QR Code and bar code should be given more priority. Instead of downloading any form from government site, they can scan the qr code and fill the form and submit it.
