How can the latest advances in digital technologies, including use of mobile phones, big data analytics and other information technology solutions be deployed in Smart Cities. The entries may be in descriptive answer types and may use pictures or videos to explain the answers better.
All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
Questions
1. List three municipal services that can be improved with the use of a mobile phone.
2. Describe 3 aspects of your daily life that have improved with the use of the mobile phone.
3. Suggest 5 ways in which the use of big data can make Indian cities into smart cities.
4. Mention 3 new ways that information technology can improve Governance.
5. How can access to information and data make our public spaces safe and secure?
Entry Deadline
• Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015.
Evaluation
The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:
• Do-ability (50%)
• Innovation (50%)
Award
Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts:
Rs. 40,000 - First Prize
Rs. 25,000 - Second Prize

The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot

• All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
• The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only.
• The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less.

Answer 2: Information Sharing is easy with the use of Mobile Phone (Different Channels like Social Media, Whatsapp, SMS/Email services). Receiving information about “Cultural Aspect” as well as regular development updates (Even I don't read newspaper; I can receive latest updates on Varanasi/National Development via Social media). Most Important, “My Gov India” where we can put our suggestions on different topics which connects us to Government directly. #SmartCities #MeraShaharMeraSapna

Traffic regulation, Regulation of taxes, Effective collection of taxes, Provide customized services & disseminate the benefits of government policies to right people 4. file complaints, Track status, Provide feedback on services 5. Authorisation should be granted by the concerned individual for any one to read his information.

#SmartCities, #MeraShaharMeraSapna Qn no 5: We should create a e-portal connecting smart cities that public can share information of crime, corruption and secret information to security agencies, using AADHAAR or any identity card. Provision should be there that they can upload any type files as proof also. (pdf, jpg, video etc). Once a complaint/information is posted, provision must be there to sort it out. Mobile app also created for same. govt can share their findings to people.

Implementing a system to keep intact the information regarding each citizen updated by themselves timely in the event of any changes occurs, by providing each citizen a profile page (MY PAGE)on myGOV website or other Government website. A lite model of the page I am intending is attached here for your kind perusal. Other suggestions are making the land document, RC book, Driving Licence, etc. into electronic chip type cards... CRIME FREE SMART CITY THROUGH “SMART CITY SECURITY PORTAL” 2 Smart Health Portal / (Smart health index for cities) 3 Smart Public Education Portal 4 Smart Public Distribution / E-Portal for public distribution Smart Disaster management through a portal designed in USHAHIDI platform.
