Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

I think if we can plan something like intercity transport through EMU/lightweight trains, would probably work better. I am not sure it is good, but yes implementation may be little problem. let us have an example of Agra -delhi; why can't we have sitting char train between these two cities running in the middle vacant place of Expressway. Let it be privatized if Govt want to give to Private partner. It can reduce the burden on long running trains.

Dear Modiji, My advice is to make a HUB of Three level Transport Underground train for Cargo, Ground level road & above level (3rd Level) for bullet train for commuters. Train and Airport for Cargo and passenger biggest network from Madhya Pradesh connecting to all states and ports as MP lies between India. It will cut cost for all products and it will be the best and convenient for all the Companies. It will create huge jobs. Thank's Amit Shital

Honourable PM and Railway minister should look after unhealthy food served in train. Train timings are not up to the level. Speed of normal express and superfast train are not as expected. Safety of women is a major issue and requires safety for all. Drinking water facility is not available in many of the stations. When normal express and superfast train are not up to the level, how will the bullet train be perfect?? So govt should look after these problems first and then abt the bullet trains.

India railway has huge area occupied by tracks deployed across India. I feel deploying solar panels over the areas occupied by rail tracks would be good idea to generate green energy. This addresses the issue of space for deploying large number of solar panels.

To improve railways my suggestion is as follows:1) CC tv’s should be installed in every reservation counters, and all platforms of station to keep check on touts , agents, antisocials and theft.2) All trains should have an additional bogie dedicated to first aid, fire safety and security. (this could be named as safety coach) This bogie should be equipped with basic first aid kit/medicines, doctor, electrician, fire and safety personnel. track monitoring by GPS satelite 24 hrs

Rush on unreserved ticketing window is the major cause of without ticket travelling. 90% passenger doesn't take the ticket just because of huge rush. Honestly speaking sometimes I also do that. So to reduce the rush, there should be unresrved ticketing window in every local market. So that people get well prepared and ticket from there respective home or market. This might help in reducing the as well as railway extra benefit too.
