Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

Sir According to my views railways must construct proper level crossing.ther schould be a bord at the crossing that indicates that in how much time the train will come.ther schould be proper fencing at crowed areas.

people confused and become aggressive to cross the road. 5-Here the most important thing is the co-operation between Railway and civil-admin.Traffic inspectors should always insure people are following the rules properly 6-Where track are in higher side under passes can be installed 7-Sign-boards in big sizes should placed at proper visiablity with warnings 8-Maned gates where over load of traffic is, should immediately covered by flyovers.so we can transfer maned gates to unmaned

1-This is responsibility of Railway to abolish such crossings near dense populated areas. 2-It should be insured always tracks should be visiable at list one KM at both sides from road sides. 3-It is responsibility of PWD to insure roads should always cross vertically of tracks. Civil admin must insure at least two rumble strips with big warning symbols 20 and 50 mtrs away from track. 4-Red light signals with bells should be always in working conditions with a reasonable time span other wise

Respected PM: Entry in to a railway platform should be checked instead of exit. When some body has already travelled without a ticket how catching him at exit point can provide relief to bona-fide passengers who already has suffered on account of unauthorized ones. Secondly, there should be full unreserved trains and full reserved long distance trains at alternate intervals. If possible, there should be separate platforms also for either types of trains. ticketless be not allowed to board.

Railway took 50 yrs to have toilets in trains , but please do not take another 50 yrs to make toilets more effective. Govt should use technique to make toilets such as in aeroplane and later used same in biogas.

in many trains the rail neer is not available and train pantry employees also selling other brand packed drinking water at higher price. the one liter rail neer costs Rs. 15 per liter but other local brands @ 20 per liter. please look in to this matter seriously. If IRCTC makes sells the only rail neer in railway stations and in trains it can crores of rupees, please regulate the private packed drinking water companies in quality control and cost. thank you
