Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment ...

Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

Accidents occur due to either ignorance or arrogance. The lethal effects of the aftermath are not thought of by the offenders. It is not the responsibility of the railways to prevent LevelCrossing accidents as it is the common understanding of the victim to understand the signboard. After all railway accidents are a loss for the victim, his family and a loss of one precious contributing life to the nation.

I have an Idea that can change fuel system for trains. No fuel required for trains like diesel, Electrical power and solar. It will run on its own power. Its possible with a little research. I can explain the whole model & theory if our government is interested. If it is possible, Transport charges will be down to 80%, and no need to depends on gulf countries for fuel. It can be made to heavy vehicles like lorry and bus also.

Many a human life is lost on regular basis at the unmanned Railway crossings across the country. Such an accident in Medak district of Telnagana in July 2014 where 25 school children died when the oncoming train rammed in to the bus is still fresh in our memory. ERECTING OF MULTIPLE SPEED-BRAKERS, say about 5, in the proximity of the crossing will kill the speed of the vehicles and can prevent occurrence of such avoidable tragedies. It is an economic, effective and best alternative.

I am regular travelers by train. We experience parking contractor charging 40/Rs per bike per 24 hrs. Is parking contractor paying railway department proper amounts. There is no any cross check mechanism. If we install any mechanism. Railway can increase it's revenue.

There is a widespread saying between railway passengers that a sleeper berth is reserved only between 9pm to 9am, and any passenger can sit at daytime. Season-Ticket holders generally put this argument and long distance train passengers find themselves at stake in an non-local place. I have bitter experience of this, boarding Kamrup Express from Howrah..MST holders bully sleeper passengers there. Solution:- Posters telling passenger privileges and facilities be displayed in every wagon.

Whether manned of unmanned making underpass railway tack below crossing is the only sustainable solution as it will make will 100%accident free zone.

In rail budget 2015, try to say less and act more.because common public suffer more And ministers or officers are not aware of theire problems.i think that there should be more attension towards punchuality of trains and sleeper coach should be free of general ticket holders please.and ther should be an attension towards GRP.Because it play many times it play a role that make indian railway shameful.

Indian gov. Is working effectively, no doubt.But i had noticed many times that in sleeper coach ,no. Of person enter with the general ticket and enjoy the journy without any tension And also make annoyed those people who have reserved the seat one or two month before with extra charges(reservation charges).Now it is shameful for indian railway that the department is not able to provide that facility for which people are charged with extra money. Gov. Should take action and start new trains.

Provide only Reserved Journey Tickets to all Railway Employee instead of free pass given to Railway Employee hence result comes that miss use of Railway passes such as free pass holder travels many times on the same pass and period and result comes that Railway's increase his income by purchasing of railway tickets by Railway employee
