Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

Don't give Tatkal Waitlist ticket because tatkal ticket is used for tatkal purpose and if it is not confirm then there option open to travel by bus or taxi but before 4 hour or chart preparation can't get confirmation and options also not available so don't sale tatkal waiting ticket and if there is unsold or cancel tatkal shift it in general reservation.

I would like to say something about the Lucknow Railway Station where I live. I would like to suggest that the no. of platforms at Charbagh Railway Station should be increased since it is very difficult to wait long for the train just standing outside the station on outer and not able to come inside the railway station due to non avability of platform. Some proposal are going on in this regard but nothing has been done so far. You are requested to please incorporate the same in the budget.

Have free toilets at stations to keep the the stations clean. For a toilet visit one has to pay about Rs 5 though the same facility is available free of cost in a train that is waiting for the departure. There is no motivation for people to use the paid toilets when they are freely available in the waiting trains. The manpower used to clean the stations can be reduced drastically if free toilets are managed at stations. It is just shifting of cost from cleaning stations to maintaining toilets

I suggest to install RO purified water vending machines at each of the stations for coins of Rs 2 and 5. It has already been done in Kuala Lumpur on various streets where in by inserting coins of 20 Sens we can get 1.5 Litre of water. Due to Cartels 1 Litre water bottles in India have been too costly though we can get 20 Litre cans for about Rs 30. A 1 Litre drinking water bottle costs Rs 15 on trains, if a family of 4 is travelling for about a day they will have to spend about Rs 400

1. Stop forcing and serving food immediately. It should be made optional during booking.. 2. Stop VIP culture , reservations , driveways at stations for them. 3. Provide auto closure doors in trains for security reasons. 4. Follow China model of raise platforms. No visitors allowed except passengers.

I want to share some experience in travelling in general coach. i have an interview in mumbai. i failed to booked my tatkal reservation so i traveled in general coach and i pay 150Rs from Bandra Terminus to Ahmedabad. i got space above in seat which is made from wooden. it was uncomfortable for me. because only 2 coach was for general and no space for standing. 4 persons seat above and 4 seat below so i calculate my fare that it is 60% more than sleeper as well as facilities and seat quality.
