At Present Railway Board is filled up with the top bureaucrats who have long aspired for just achieving the goal of getting that post, they have done all sorts of juglary to get there. There intent is not very transparent. Railways is bogged down by the pre/ post colonial system of administration & there is need to rewrite the system. But the present leadership has failed to look into it and has wasted there approximate 20% time of there 5 yr term. Delhi election in holistic view has proved this

3. Huge Mirrors could also be deployed at unmanned crossing, so that a driver could easily see whether train in coming or not.
4. From technical point of view, we must invest on building an automatic signal which will indicate the status of train before unmanned crossings.

At present, my view on this issue are as follows:
1. During test driving while issuing a driving license, strong emphasis must be made on SECTION 161 AND 131 in bold letters. Every drivers must be aware of this rule.
2. Just before an unmanned crossing, a big advertising boards must be displayed stating this Sections or we could some photographic demonstration of these Sections. This will help in increasing awareness with reducing in accidents.

All the long distance trains can have solar panels on top to utilize and convert energy for its passenger amenities -fans, lights, WiFi , AC blowers if not the compressors

Accidents in unmanned level crossings can be avoided if a pre warning system before the arrival of any train through the line. Also some kind of line crossing prevention with automatic operation, when the train enters the earmarked zone before the UM level crossing to be deployed, using the mobile technology or direct control as in the case of Point machines. I am a retired JEII(Diesel Electrical) and given a chance can design a preventive system for UM Level crossing.

Can not the level crossing gate be automatically controlled, with no gatekeeper? The same system used in automatic signalling system can be used here for giving signals to automatically control closing and opening of the gate. It gets closed a few minutes before the arrival of the train and opens sooner after its departure. Several college students have done this as their B.tech/BE projects. Automatically controlled railway gate will be the best solution for accidents at unmanned level crossing.

energy can be saved by postponing the watch by at least 30 minutes in summer. govt has to do this. solar energy should come to common man.

there is no senior citizen policy of centre ans states. why? it should be beneficial to them in anna, vastra nivara and transport. all state and city buses should be asked to give at least 50% concession in the tickets including for suburban railways. the fuel component in the ticket is reduced then why not ticket cost and taxi, auto fare reduced? there is a some gadbad in this? is govt doing anything for this/
