The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources. India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica. Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP. For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower. Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Govt and PSUs only prefer B tech grads but not masters. Despite doing very well in academics and acquiring masters degree from IITs and NITs we aren't preferred to serve country through these companies. And hence the only obvious option left in front of us is to join a US/UK company and work day in and out to make money to foreign countries while my Country India needs our skills and talent at the very moment. All the policy makers please think about this and change the scenario. thanks Jaihind

Am here for the first time and am not sure if anyone reads and replies to these comments...my sole reason to join here is to speak my thoughts regarding the higher education and employment system in India. In India there are many Universities including premier institutes like IITs and NITs offer Masters degree in Engineering. But if these masters graduates want to serve country by joining in Govt and PSU jobs, There isn't at least one govt company which recruits them. The only prefer B.Techs.

Need of the hour, most of the skill development programs and opportunities are not reached to the social mass. Most of are not aware of the programs. The money not properly spent to reach the general mass. I request you to have more efficient ways like, SMS, Radio, and Asking the Mobile Service Providers to spread the governments programs to puplic. Even make these accountable and they can do this in CSR programs.

the main motive should be cleanliness of ganga modi sir ,because many of the people of rural areas near ganga uses ganga water to drink because they dnt have enough money for drinking clean water and they dont have money for fixinf wells near their house jst we have to stop that industrial waste which are coming out of the factory and chemicals so people plz jst think about that rural people which are our brother and sister of india...i want ur support for stopping all this things sir..

Modiji Govt is focussing on healthcare, , And in order to discourage Smoking and drinking among the poorer sections,Govt should do the following: (1) mandate cigarette, beedi companies to sponsor during prime time on TV in main entertainment & news channels , at least twice a week, a 10 min. programme to show ill effects of the habits in an interesting, eye catching way (2) Censor Board should give 'A' Cert. to films which have even 1 scene of smoking, drinking.

Finance Minister must do something in this Budget to restore the Dignity of Tax Payers. Why Tax Payers are terrorised in India and made to appear before the assessing officers as if they are thieves ? When will this position change ? Simpler the compliances lesser the tax theft. Tax theft is more because of the havoc created in the minds of common man and the ill treatment they get in the departments. This must change now. Just show little sympathy and give some dignity to the tax payers...

Sir, first thing we have to do for our Nation is to restore the dignity of a Common Man. Make CM feel to be proud citizen of India and this can happen only when a CM will be treated like a citizen Democratic Nation in true sense. We have to make CM's daily life easy by crushing the web of laws around him. Just sit back and check all our local bodies, state govmts and Center has levied how many type of taxes direct or indirect and how poorly the CM is treated in the Gvt.Dept.Mindset has to change

sir please draw your kind attention toward health condition of Homophelia patients. The usable Drugs are not available in many famous Hospitals. Like SN in Agra, actually today I Went to hospital for inquire about injection of homophelia Factor 8, but not available last 5 month. sir a patient need it must, without it they will be die. In SN (District Hospital) there is a special ward for these patient since last three year. But not availability of Injections. my both nephew are homophelic.

India has a huge scarcity of hands on skilled personnel like plumbers, electricians, welders, machine operators, etc. Much of our human resources are getting attracted to Engineering colleges which have reached a stagnation in terms of placement opportunity whereas industry requirements for skilled blue collar workers is remaining unmet. The main reason for this is the relative differences in prestige perception of the two jobs. The need is to increase prestige of blue collar workers in society.
