The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources. India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica. Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP. For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower. Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Dear modiji everybody talking about skills only in it and other areas but not in agriculture but India becoming rich country only by agriculture not with IT .....so please support former respect him he will feed nation like a mother ....but inthis country all govt employees they will do strike for theire own benifits ...and they will get from govt whatever they want .....but former he completely depends on god ....you know 10 years back my village 100%depends on agriculture but now 60%

If you count the number of bandhs(strike) in the past 30 years, Assam has witnessed 4 years of "Assam bandh". Every alternate day there is a strike by political outfits, militant organisations to give an effect to their demand. We have to put an end immediately to this bandh culture. Just Imagine, a state inactive for four years! No matter what is the reason, whoever gave the bandh, the people are victims. You can't expect development to flourish when there are strikes!

Question is not specific. Obviously, both class room training under abled hands along with practical training on the job are required in almost all technology professions. So, question is wasted. Having said that, a high dose of practical inputs are required in Mining Skills development. As an illustration, in illegal coal mines (called rat holes), villagers dig coal with great skills. All learnt by experience ! But, risk remains though to their lives.

Skills in mining sector, in fact for any sector every one is requires with theory and practical knowledge. An excellent Professor without any practical knowledge may not justify the teaching the student on practical knowledge. Both the things have to go hand in hand. Then only India can build strong engineering community.Even our Honorable President of India said several times that our Universities are not coming in top 200 rank. Even now it is not late to mix industry and Institutes like IITs.

Before some days I has listened on BBC Hindi radio that the Petrolium prices has been reduced upto 25% in international market in last 3 to 4 month and many countries of world petrolium pricess has been decreases even pakistan reducess 10 Rupees. So India should also decreases petrolium pricess in coumtry upto 25%. Thus the new Petrol price in India should be 80-20(25%) = 60 Rupees. Plz declare new pricess of petroleum.

Now a days...parents are giving priority to only private school..for studies their children..we need to change our mentaliy...then only we can see some changes in the education system..

I am sayin by personal experience the approach of engineering colleges in india is pathetic( i am talking about private colleges under government univ affliations). All they are worried about is assignments (written), marks, more enrollements.. Etc. Nobody cares about research, nobody cares about different innovative approach, nobody motivates inventions. Our engineering education system is more theoretical based rather it should be more industry based.

Delhi is worst hit by traffic. All this is added up by the behavior of Delhi Police who just sits aside & people keep on coming in b/w Green light. We have already seen loss of Sh. Gopinath Munde recently. Daily several people die due to traffic rules violation. When will Govt. wake up?

Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday announced that petroleum prices would be reduced by Rs9.43 per litre in order to provide relief to the public. If Pak can reduce prices, why can't India?
