Digital Locker is one of the key initiatives under the Digital India Programme. A beta version (http://digitallocker.gov.in) of the same has been released on 10th Feb. 2015, by Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt. of India.

Digital Locker is aimed at minimizing the usage of physical documents and enable sharing of e-documents across agencies. The sharing of the e-documents will be done through registered repositories thereby ensuring the authenticity of the documents online. Residents can also upload their own electronic documents and digitally sign them using the e-sign facility. These digitally signed documents can be shared with Government organizations or other entities.

Key features of the Digital Locker System are:

• 10 MB of free space in digital locker to residents to access their documents through Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) and also securely store e-documents.
• e-sign online service to digitally sign documents

Residents are invited to use the Beta version of the Digital Locker System and provide suggestions and feedback on the same. Suggestions are also invited on the use cases for services which can be additionally provided by the Digital Locker System.

5) Make machines tax free. Make in India is for manufacturing sector and I am sure we are not talking about handmade Khadi or handicrafts. Cheap and quality Production can happen only with good machines and these machines do not come cheap. China uses German machines for producing cheap products.

4) Skill Development through ITIs and all Govt Engineering colleges by upgrading the tool room to top notch German machines teaching machinery and process leading to zero defect and zero effect. Zero defect means good quality and zero effect means safety of worker, safety of environment, optimization of time, labour, cost, output, space, waste and this can happen with process training and good machines.

2) Easy and fast Loans to SMEs @ 10%. Like Home loans have given a flip to housing industry and auto loans to automobile Industry why charge 30-40% more to SMEs. Why not easy, fast, collateral free loans? 3) GST...make it as simple as possible. If possible at 10% so no CA is required. Make it fast, simple and closed ended. This would be the biggest leap post independence for India Inc.

Expensive land, finance, labour, machines and tax make us uncompetitive in domestic and exports and China is hitting us hard every day and we are responsible for this...not China. Let us waste more time, opportunities for us and the country. We need your support and action.

Make in India is just a slogan unless it works for SMEs as under 1) Land on 25 years lease with road, power and water. Land availability with above 3 in remote areas. Small villages, have made companies gone Global in Germany. Our workshops still are in expensive urban areas adding to the price, pollution and population creating imbalance.
