Digital Locker is one of the key initiatives under the Digital India Programme. A beta version (http://digitallocker.gov.in) of the same has been released on 10th Feb. 2015, by Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt. of India.

Digital Locker is aimed at minimizing the usage of physical documents and enable sharing of e-documents across agencies. The sharing of the e-documents will be done through registered repositories thereby ensuring the authenticity of the documents online. Residents can also upload their own electronic documents and digitally sign them using the e-sign facility. These digitally signed documents can be shared with Government organizations or other entities.

Key features of the Digital Locker System are:

• 10 MB of free space in digital locker to residents to access their documents through Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) and also securely store e-documents.
• e-sign online service to digitally sign documents

Residents are invited to use the Beta version of the Digital Locker System and provide suggestions and feedback on the same. Suggestions are also invited on the use cases for services which can be additionally provided by the Digital Locker System.

It is often seen that the Traffic Police harass people on vehicles and ask to show all Original Documents. Since a lot of other services allow a Soft copy of Documents e.g, Travel Tickets in flights, Trains and Identity cards, Showing of soft copies of vehicle documents in Smartphone etc. should be equally valid. This way genuine people will not have to suffer if they are not carrying the original Documents at all times. Jai Hind

We are from Assam,we worked as an operator of Community Information Centre(a dream project of Atal Vihari Bajpai Sir),we lost our job during congress's rule because congress was not interested to carry on BJP's project,as BJP won in Assam,we were hoping that BJP will surely do something for this mega project,but we are losing hopes,please do something for this project as it was your own dream project,we are begging you Narendra Modi Sir

I loved the initiative of AADHAR which promises to give proper rights. When can we see realization of this dream? I think most crucial problem in India we have is that unique identity of a person which is achieved through AADHAR. So why don't we start implementing this ASAP.

Dear it's evident from the arrests from Sashtry Bhawan that we are carrying a corrupt legacy in Delhi. It becomes more prominent from the adverse comments came as propaganda that Ms. Kiran Bedi wiil not materialise all the illegal colonies. It's deliberately supported by all corrupt retirees of Delhi comparing with Jagmohan episode. All the corrupt retirees & their followings are making a living by some how selling the confidential documents asassociated every ministries or by making a NGO here

Hope most of the Indians agree this, PLEASE STOP PASSING THE BILL ON LAND ACQUISITION. If you pass this bill every village/city land becomes MLA or MP's or CM's or Pinami or their RELATIVE LAND.. 100 % there is a chance of misuse.
