One example of a spectacular tourism project in rural areas is the JATAYU BIRD STATUE in the state of Kerala. The same way we can tap into local traditions, myths and folkore. But of course, you need INVESTMENT and a determined agency for this. For this I suggest the following
1.Identify where such investments can be made.A detailed identification plan need to be worked out.
2.Use a Public Private participation or wholly private Model for the modifications to the tourism site
3.Ads,packages

Tourism can be leveraged through 4 steps
1- Educate the rural population in a mass through various channels e.g; through gram panchayat, well known person of those societies; NGO's about tourism and earning potential in tourism.
2 - Initiate the concept of model village. Form an organised groups consisting of native members, for those rural areas or villages where there is high potential which can be transferred to model villages. Try to find the.... PLEASE SEE THE IMAGE I ATTACHED

In my opinion tourism is best in hill stations and the shrines or temples which are situated in these hill stations. Tourism can be boosted only when the tourists would get overall facilities whether it is the case of staying or car parking or perfect facilities for tourists so that they would feel like home, as our Indian culture says about vasudev kutumbkam, tourists whether they are Indian tourists or international tourists should also feel that, tourism is a booster in our Indian economy.

In every city with the help of local authorities, we can make a model village showcasing the varied culture and traditions. We can install scientific projects there like biogas plants, solar panels, pisciculture etc which is going to benefit the villagers too.

Build Earthenships and give this for stay for tourist. Given an opportunity for families to stay, build and farm in cultivated lands along with their regular jobs.
Live in Earthships which would be off grid, promote permaculture and should participate in farming and rural development programs. It will be give and take opportunity

Transportation, safety, Reduced power cuts with constant voltage. This will enable denizens of villages to showcase themselves as escape gateways in midst of green and clean environment. Farmers can take them to farms and show what it takes to harvest a crop.
