The triangular stretch from Guindy to Saidapet to Little Mount faces big bottlenecks due to pedestrian and vehicular conflict. If a network of walkways and pavements are created that move people smoothly to the Church, to the offices and to the busstand, that will ease bottlenecks. This can be done by widening pavement to 6 feet on both sides and creating 50 feet bridges w ramps. Along both sides of bridges, shops and restaurants can be set up. Local cos can be asked to sponsor in return for ads

Chennai smart city:The entire smart city roads are to be replaced by Plastic concrete roads similar to Dutch Rotterdam city roads where all rain water is absorbed by the plastic concrete roads and this can increase the ground water level

Kathipara is a massive interchange w Metro station, bus stop, MRTS and local stations v close to each other. But public face a hard time to cross over from Kathipara to guindy station or to industrial estate busstand as there is no pedestrian area. Creating a giant pedestrian plaza under Kathipara and linking it to all stations and busstops through subways and ramps will greatly benefit all. The entire area can be designed also w shops and restaurants etc w rentals paying for capex.

Chennai corporation limits are too small and most of the developing areas come under Panchayats. Panchayats are limited in terms of funds and area of operation. For example, to lay a drainage network many panchayats have to coordinate activities. If 3 or 4 additional corporations can be created, new areas can be developed faster. For example the entire belt from ECR to OMR to GST can be a new city -South Chennai Municipal corporation. Similarly, West, North and Central Chennai corps can be made

South Chennai along OMR has number of lakes many of which are dried. If all these lakes are connected by underground and overland channels, and these channels linked tomthe rainwater harvesting systems of all the gated communities and IT parks in the area, the lakes can be revived, water table restored and the water scarcity in this area addressed. The property value of the houses here will go up as they become 'lakefront homes'.so cost of project can be addressed thru higher property tax
