The first priority is proper underground drainage systems for waste water and sewerage. What's the use of a smart city if the city is flooded after heavy rains. The underground system must be of large dia for manual inspection and fitted with sensors and cameras and monitored real time in a dedicated control room. Paris has one such system

Humble request to corporation of Chennai's law makers that a law be framed whereby it becomes mandatory for every house owner:
1. To plant, nurture and maintain a sapling of gulmohartree/neemtree/raintree/ at the two front corner of its house if the house is situated on 20 feet private or public road and the sapling be supplied by corporation nursery. This will ensure full & rapid greener cover to city in just two to three years. If the planted saplings are nurtured well it will add beauty

Door to door collection segregated of garbage
This will take burden off from landfills.
It generates employment , improves the air quality around landfills, generates bio gas/ power and manure for farmers.
In India about 50-60% of the garbage generated is biodegradable and 35-45% is recyclable
It can be disposed easily with the help of 2 things- bio gas plants and proper recycling facilities.
The bio degradable waste can be sent to the bio gas plant

In respect to smart city, people safety and security specially to woman should be given high priority.CCTV camara should be fixed at all the points from entrance of city to exit of city, which should be constantly monitored. smart city should be trade, sercives and business oriented, NO industries which make pollution, should be sanctioned within the limit of 25 kms of the city. The city should be completely with trees and plants,it should be pollution free, The people should feel like heaven
