See is believing- I suggest we mount WIFI cameras on all the govt owned transport vechiles (buses / trucks / vans / 2 wheelers ) and connect them to various depts of public health / police / transport / roads / garbage clearance and many more ,these cameras will give live feed of the quality of roads / movement of vechiles / traffic violations/ garbage on streets / illegal hoardings / misuse of power for political rallies / road side tree cuttings / public behaviour in bus stands and many more

1. Bring best engineers and techies into CMDA team, provide them freedom to think and act. 2. Install smart traffic control systems. Capture signal violations and send bills to home. 3. Equip Police with world class technologies to control crimes. Install CCTV cameras in every street. 4. Widen the roads. Make separate lanes for 4, & 2 wheeler. Ensure U turns not blocking traffic. 5. Encourage cyclists 6. make safe paths for pedestrians. Subways will be most useful. Not over-bridge.

FOR COMMUTATION: Improve the inter-connectivity and accessibility among bus stopMRTS stationTrain station. For example: - at Tharamani, the bus stop and MRTS are not connected - Parktown and Chennai central a sky walking bridge is needed FOR PEOPLE’S HEALTHY LIFE: Convert open lands into parks & play grounds with simple sports facilities like football post etc FOR WATER RESOURCE: Try if we can do rainwater harvesting directly under the road where water is accumulating

Improve lung space availability in all localities. Encourage citizens to walk or bicycle to work by developing cycle only lanes and by increasing the size of the footpaths. Increase green cover in every locality by restricting unplanned developments and deviations. The FSI rule should be strictly adhered to and made sure that every plot has trees planted on the set back areas. Corrupt bureaucrats / politicians / govt officials should be jailed and given harsh punishments.

Open drains on the side of major arterial roads need to be closed. This would prevent these drains by becoming garbage disposal points and breeding spots for mosquitoes. The stench would also reduce. Further, water & sewage treatment plants should be erected in all localities. Only treated water should flow through to the sea via major canals.

Adopting global practices in waste and water management is the need of the hour. Our city is exploding at its seams with a large and diverse migrant population. this puts a strain on the available resources & further complicates issues such as waste & water management, transport, social infrastructure. Dumping garbage in yards / landfills / lakes / swamps should be banned. Waste incinerators should be ramped up. Recycl. of wastes need to given utmost importance. Politicians should be accoutable.
