First of all our aim should be to conserve the natural resources available in our #Chennai city in a #smart way.
My suggestions would be as follows :
1. Ramp up the conservation activities to enrich river #Cooum.
2. Make river Cooum and buckingham canal navigable and at the same time maintain its purity and develop a friendly ecosystem throughout the spread of the river.
3. Tree plantation throughout the city should be made must. Road side trees should be made compulsory.

Most of the dusts or carbages are littered by street vendors, road side eateries (kaiyenthi bhavan), tender coconut vendors, road side mechanics and flower vendors. They are not properly dispose the wastes. This will cause closing the mouth of rain water drains reflects water logging on city roads and completely halt of vehicle movement in rainy season. Impose a fine of Rs.500/- or 1000/- every day basis or regularize them by means of earmarked places only.

1. To enhance Chennai as smart city, introduce 123, 1To 4, 1To 5, 1To 6 stopping for long distance MTC routes on the arterial roads (Eg. GST,OMR,ECR,VMR)
2. Minimize pedestrian walking on road to catch the bus by a feeder bus stop (short distance fleet) at every half a kilometer at a low fare say Rs.2 or 3 to link important bus/train stop where long distance MTC buses make a halt. This will avoid accidents and also helps fast movement of vehicles.

1.Setup online procurement portal like gebiz.gov.sg
2.Get private players to support thru BOT model
3.Mgmt of roads should be integrated between all groups. Digging contracts should be compulsorily combined with road relaying
4.Encourage reuse of organic waste in apartments for gardening
5.Incentivize waste segregation at source by providing some form of credit e.g.property tax discount
6.Try Uber model of services.Companies attach themselves to provide services and CC get a commission

1. Integrated transport: Metro/MRTS/MTC/Suburban train should have single ticket and enable seamless travel. This can be done with smart cards which can be used in all mode s of transport
2. GPS based apps to locate buses so that waiting time in bus stops can be reduced and alternate route plan can be done
3. Integrated traffic signal management. Provision for ambulance/other priority vehicles to get clear route.

hai,
I am a resident of Adyar, Kasturba nagar and face daily traffic snarls at sardar patel road.
I have a small suggestion, don know if its the right platform !!
we have a lot of OSR land along the Buckingham canal in Kasturba nagar which could be used as a bus stand and hence would provide 3 benefits.
1. reduce the congestion at sardar patel road where present bus station is and narrows the stretch
2. provide connectivity to MRTS station of kasturba nagar.
3. remove encroachments

Spend money for necessity rather than publicity. Increase flyovers to reduce traffic. Make sure flyovers avoid heavy vehicles. Do anything to save Water and electricity(Strict rules only way. so that Lets stop seeing upwards for water and electricity). Clean city not possible unless every people knows it values or rules get changed. Smart city is possible only with public support so make more awareness.
