Residents may post their opinion and ideas on civic services such as transport, parking, water supply, sanitation, energy, housing, IT solutions, health, education, safety and security. Your views, opinion and solutions on urban issues faced by Chennai would not only support a better tomorrow for Chennaites, it will also make Chennai a strong contender for getting shortlisted as one of the first 20 cities in India to implement Smart City Solutions in Phase 1.

Chennai citizen and community is its biggest strength. Let’s participate to make this proposal inclusive and meaningful for every common man, every citizen.

Smartness is not about Iphones and Androids. I saw an article in hindu today Corporation officials disappointed with ideas, asking people to come up with "smart" ideas. City will become "smart" if already existing approaches are made efficient. Please address simple issues, then we will become automatically smart.

It would be of great help to passengers if there were LED screens at bus stops to display the time at which the next bus would come to that bay. I have seen this facility abroad and it has proven to be very useful.

We all know that chennai if facing severe water scarcity currently. This is because of the monsoon has delayed, and some other factors. This is a lesson for us. In the future, a scientific technology should be developed which would assess the present groundwater levels and inform the Metrowater about its current status, whether its increasing or depleting. The Meteorology officials can also provide inputs to the Corporation officials in real time, so that they can plan the water distbn. easily.

As someone said previously, even i got to know about this smart city suggestion initiative by reading an article in Hindu today. If CoC publicises these kind of initiatives by wasting of posting ads in newspapers, or updates in social media, more participation from citizens could be expected. Many are not aware of the facilities which the corporation offers.
