Apart from the stated objectives, elimination of cash transactions frees a lot of employees at different ends from counting, handling and storing currency. The Union and State Govts. must factor this aspect to provide incentives for use of electronic payments in the form of internet banking, and payments through credit and debit cards.
2. Sufficient precautions on the part of customers needed.
3. Electronic payments may be made mandatory for transactions over Rs 5 lakh.
