“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

I am briefing about People friendly Initiative needed by the Govt TODAY to provide LPG Two stage regulator to existing Domestic cylinder.Annual LPG cylinder subsidized quota, LPG Safety against Leakage in Domestic gas cylinder and LPG Savings is needed NOW. All the above can be implemented in one stroke by the Govt by approving the gas saving and safety device called as GASFUSE made by branded Regulator OEMS. But the price is costing around Rs.2500/-. Govt to subsidize the same to Rs.500/-

Spend at least two hours in morning and two hours in evening in open natural area. Try to sleep once a week without electric help i.e.without ac, fan or heater . Avoid shopping before 9am and after 7 pm or after sunset. Use clothes without iron at least once a week. Use clothes that dont require iron like T shirts. Inspire and reward your children to use bicycle instead of motorcycle. Rewards can be given to people who r leaving energy efficiency life. Thanks

Sir, I've a question. For water, why we are still depend on rain? Can we use sea-water by purifying it & making it drinkable & spreading it by pipeline in all over the country. This will 1 time solution for all our water-shortage. Due to this water will available to every person, industry, & farmer. Considering the total cost of all our water conservation & distribution project of past as well as future, this cost of sea-water purification & distribution would be lower.

LED bulb scheme is great efforts towards energy saving... but it could be more effective if government gives more option (with competitive rates) like (0.5 watt/1 watt/ 3 Watt) bulb... Practical example - 0.5 watt LED bulb can replace 10 watt bulb in the night (20 TIMES saving) 1 watt / 3 watt bulb might be replaced bathroom etc.

People have to be made aware by mass media campaigns. More emphasis should be given to the renewable sources of energy. Govt can introduce chip based electric meter which will be recharged like mobile phones and then electricity will be used. It will automatically reduce wastage of electricity. Prepaid electricity meters with wireless network rechargeable chip will help a lot.
