When we are spending lot of money on Metros and urban infrastructure, whyisn't it is reducing vehicles on road?
Encouraging people to come to office by walk or pedalling. Make sure it is mandatory by providing tax sops for those who saved on Fuel. This will reduce burden on roads and improve Health of our citizens. Protecting Environment is our first and utmost priority. This will even make citizen think of his/her own country.

Bigger businesses should manage their power requirements after 6:00 PM by switching to solar power generation.
Our town planning mechanism should be over hauled to accomodate space to utilise more sunlight in daytime and the power saved in day time can be used to lit in Evening. When we close most of non-essential shops used for shopping it will save lot of money for govenment. Even it will reduce Co2 emissions and amount of power required.

#Energyconservation- Energy Saved is Energy conserved.
I would like to suggest the following tips to save Energy to a large extent.
1] We have abundant sunlight in almost all parts of india throught the year. To utilise Sunlight mostly, we need to adjust our working hours and business hours.
Work starts at 8:00am & ends at 4:00 pm in evening.
Business hours: All shops to start at 7:00am till 5:00 PM. Close time can be 5:30 PM in summer.
Only essential services should be allowed.

There are many ways you can save energy. But I think we should have some study/data gathering that tell us how Indians use energy and where do they use most of that energy? Once you have this data, may be we can identify where to save energy.
More importantly an average Indian uses about 15% energy as an average American uses. So Indians are generally using less energy. But also India is energy starved. We should find ways to produce more energy through nuclear energy and other clean sources.

i think tube-well drilling for residential houses should be banned only in commercial and agriculture purpose it should be permitted.
rain water harvesting and solar panel should be subsidized for every house owner living in cities.
planting at least 1 tree for every house owner should be compulsory.
public transport should be so efficient that it can accommodate population of a particular city and then number of vehicle purchased in a family should also be restricted.
