“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

Along with adopting LED, a simple technology is currently helping corporates and companies to save lot and lot of money (and energy too). Light (lux) sensing switch! There are millions of money is being wasted as currently all government owned lights (street lights, office lights, etc) are being switched on and off by human and with respect to time, not the need of light. Think if all street lights gets switched on and off automatically with respect to light requirement at that moment.

Dear Prime Minister, 1) There should be a 'Cycle Day' each month, twelve such days in a year. 2) Similarly, a 'Public Transport Day', wherein nobody will use his / her private vehicle. 3) 'Walk a Mile Day', every Sunday let India walk for a mile (together we would walk 65 billion miles in a year)

As we all know about the so called POLLUTION that is taking place around us, can anyone guess the most basic fundamental level as to why this is happening? Its just because to achieve the urbanization goals we are forgetting to increase the green cover of the earth. Its the trees who purify air, its because of the precipitation of the trees there is rain, its because of the green cover the fossil fuels are formed. As kids we all learnt these facts but as adults we have forgotten. So plz grow trees.

There are various ways we can save energy. Co-operation from local government bodies such as providing efficient transportation, planning shortcut routes and planning the signals properly can reduce energy consumption. Student should attend school in 3 km radius and all curriculum activities of children should be available in this area. We should ensure that every colony is a perfect subunit of employment, school, sports. We should promote use of cycles and use public transportation.

We can convert biodegradable waste into fuel we are talking about this from a long time but still not implemented yet it is high time that gov should take initiatives . different dustbins according to the kind of wastes are being installed in areas for example 3 kind of dustbin like one is for only paper kind of waste another one is for glass type of wastes and last one is for other house hold wastes .

There should be an aggressive replacement drive where all lighting is upgraded to LEDs in govt buildings. All electrical devices should be linked to a smart controller unit which automatically turns them on/off as per need. Wherever feasible, people should be given incentives to install solar panels. Similarly for electric vehicles. And similarly for replacing all old and inefficient machinery with new one.

There are some signals which show the amount of time the signal will remain red and many signals don't show that. Making it a practice to show the time on as many signals as possible will help people in realizing the time it will take for green signal and to turn off their automobiles without worrying about when it may turn green.

One of the primary challenges in cities is the heavy vehicle movement. If we can bring in efficient transportation within city, that can save a lot of energy and bring down the pollution levels as well. I am attaching a PDF with a draft proposal that aims at doing this at a low cost and in a fast manner. Appreciate if someone can look into this.

Encouraging free energy from Space Energy Generator by Mr. Paramahamsa Tewari Generation of electrical power from the medium of space, Tewari has built Space Power Generators that operate at over-unity efficiency, thereby showing that the space medium indeed is the source of generation of basic forms of energy. A Breakthrough occurred on Saturday November 23rd, 2014 with a test that yielded an efficiency of 238% at 6 KVA for a 3 phase AC synchronous generator, 50/60 Hz, 240 VAC.
