“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

The dung from cattle in villages are mostly used as fertilisers . why don't the govt. bring a plan of constructing small biogas units comprising unitedly three or four villages and produce electricity for them from the cattle waste....the good thing is we can also use degradable waste in this process . and the residue that would be left after this electricity production can still be used as fertiliser.

I came across a energy efficient & smoke less stove using same biomass fuels with lots of benefits - less fuel consumption, no hazards of smoke, less co2 released etc. Price is tad high for the masses. This should be subsidized considering overall benefits. http://www.greenwayappliances.com/greenway-jumbo-stove

while paying bill online by Debitcard on DNHPDCL website we are charged extra 1% of the total bill in addition to service charge. where as the same facility in Daman is free of cost no extra charges on online payment. so i have no option but to visit the DNHPDCL office to make the payment in-turn i use my vehicle which causes petrol consumption and pollution, waste of time, load on the office staff, chances of corruption etc. pleas make online payment free people will be happy.

We can also take an initiative from this year. We should encourage the people not to burn the effigies of Ravana on occasion of Dussehra. In place of that people should place garbage bins in front of their houses either by collecting fund from the people of the particular area/colony or individually

This type of setup can also be used for production of electricity. In this setup in place of coal or any other fuel, a Fresnel lens of high converging power can be used to focus the rays coming from sun to a steam producer, which would produce a high pressure steam to rotate the turbine and produce electricity through the dynamo

We can also use bio gas in place of LPG. We must promote farmers to set up bio gas plant, for a better future, waste management and also for some extra money for farmers.

Use alternate fuels for our vehicles like Bio fuel & Ethanol to save our external debts and environment also. Western and American countries not so much spend on Forex reserves to buy Crude Oil like india. we reduce to import crude oil to save our economy.
