“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

Free Solar Energy...To Create solar park we need land and we know issues with the land bill. What I feel is to construct solar park and transmit generated energy space is not a limiting factor. We have lot of space along with user available in the from of 1. Railway station roof 2. Bus Station Roof 3, Govt Building like school, collage, hospital, circuit house, etc From any point we can start installing solar cell and reduce consumption power generated by thermal power plant.

Hi, I jst had a thought that every atm machine consumes around 5500W of energy pr day, that is way too much because almost all the ATM machines will be switched On 24*7. Few suggestions which I thought suitable are: 1) establishing smart ATM machines to detect the ATM user, if present or not, if nt go into sleep mode. 2) All ATM machines shold only b powered through solar cells. Thse r few small steps which, if taken, can help us fr long run.. Any suggestions will be appreciated

It impressed me a lot, particular the system of auto cut and auto start when sun rises and sets. If similar lighting system is adapted here then it will save a lot of energy, and if it is too costly for cities then the use of auto cut and auto start system with conventional lights will also help.

I have listened to the program of MAAN KI BAAT of 29th November, and I was particularly impressed by the stories (especially regarding energy conservation) that were shared. I am resident of ALLAHABD U.P. And in my city I have noticed that the street lights are not switched off even during daytime. This leads to the wastage of a lot of energy. During my visit to my grandfather's house in BHAREHATA (a village in Mirzapur) I have seen solar lights working quite efficiently.

I think installing solar panels in every government institution can help a lot.Every government offices, colleges or any other workplace or institution should use renewable sources of energy.

Third Suggestion. Develop portable solar table lamps and issue to each school students under various schemes / CSR of companies. This will help in improving the reach of technology to all.

Sir, One of the major problem faced by the would and our country in specific is the change in climate and associated issues. I wanted to put up the following points towards eliminating this issue. (a) create one water body / pond / lake along with each kilometer of new Highway construction. This will help in (i) Rain water harvesting. (ii) recharging of ground water(iii)water for cattle, birds etc (iv) water for agriculture(v) water for vegetation (v) Natural swimming pool etc.

Lucknow me Air Pollution bahut jayeda he. Iska karan pade paodho ka katan. jal ka bhi dusit hona. gomti nadi ka pani bahut ganda hai. kyo kyoki city se nikle nale sedhi gomti nadi mai gira dete hai. isses pani dusit hota hai aur logo ko yahi dusit pani supply kiya jata hai. jisko pine se gambhir bimari paida hoti hai aur logo ki jaan jati hai. aur iske sath hi hawa bhi dusit he jisme oxygen ki matra kafi kam hoti ja rahi hai jises logo sas se sambandhi bimari jayeda ho rahi he.
