“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

If the BTS rooms/shelters of mobile telecommunication networks are constructed according to the principles of Vastu Shastra, use of air-conditioners could be reduced and energy could be saved.

Energy could be saved for signal lights in many cases solar at present .we are used to see three lights red,Orange, green this was designed not by us may be British .With improvements in L.E.D lighting you can have all colours in one lamp like outer circle red, middle circle Orange, inner circle green. This could save on no of lamps on a junction hence cost effective.

In my view energy for street lights in major cities could be saved in the night by switching off alternatively after 12 pm as the vehicle movement is reduced .either alternative polls or third poll as they are on different phases electronic time switch connected to electrical switch for a particular street .timing can be varied depending on the traffic. few hours of energy saved through out the country will be substantial.

As air is an important part of our life such that electricity is also important for all.But the government always used to say that only 12-14 hours electricity is needed for the rural areas. This is ridiculous for the leaders for these of their views. It must be changed for the growth of the rural areas and for the country.Think about it.

Respected Sir, As per my thought official stationary (one side pages), empty pens & other things should be recycled by proper way. other things like one side blank pages should recycled or converted in books, Empty pens also be recycled to help poor childrens. this can be effective by appointing school volunteer.

PM stresses on the power of 125 crore Indians. I think there is one more use of this population, we produce tons and tons of bio wastes every day, if this bio waste can be converted efficiently into bio energy, it will help us fight following things, 1. Power demand(electrification of villages) 2. Clean India(no waste goes waste) 3. Employment(pickers, plant workers, Etc) 4. Carbon emissions reduction(green India) Central bio energy manufacturing plants should be set up in every state.

There are millions of multistory buildings in all cities. In such buildings, lighting is provided in the common areas such as corridors, staircases, parking areas throughout the night. In addition, there are street lamps that burn all through the night. If these are replaced by Motion Sensor lamps, there can be substantial saving of energy- The saving of energy for each light replaced can work out to 70% savings in energy.
