“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

As the major Users of power, corporate and industries must take initiatives in-order to save a huge amount of resources. If not initiatives the government must impose certain simple ideas that will go a long way, if whole corporate World follows such as 1. Compulsory car pooling 2.Hibernation of systems during non-business hours 3.Encouraging usage of stairs for climbing up to 2 floors 4.Incentives and prizes for maximum power saving offices 5.Educating about benefits of power saving

sir , At present i am in the final year of my b.tech in electrical and electronics engineering. what's my view regarding this power usage is.. we have to implement a recharge based power supply same as like mobile recharge.. this is the technique that which makes one individual to use up to what he can bear the amount, and no further wastage ,he will use power according to his utilities. There is a lot of information with me regarding this new technique.please give me a chance to share my view

Sir, As an electrical student I know that saving of one unit of power is equal to generation of 3 units. So, I want to suggest you to implement energy saving scheme like distribution of led bulbs to domestic consumers we can save lot of energy and this scheme is implemented by govt of andhra Pradesh and we need to reduce transmission loss by upgrading them with recent technology
