“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

More environment friendly buildings with state of the art infrastructure using environment friendly technology like Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change. Indira Paryavaran Bhavan. Jor Bagh Road. New Delhi This uses solar energy for each and every electrical need from lights to A/C and self sensor lights and taps. More such buildings in the future will lead to less burden on environment and promotion and successful exploitation of inexhaustible resource ie. solar energy.

Improving air conditioner efficiency could avoid up to 100 bil. tonnes of CO2 - let such ideas related to #ClimateChange be discussed & be focused on Door Darshan & in Social Media. If hon.PM will add to his tweets & various discourses, it will greatly help improving environment & lives of future generations.

Taxi companies (like Meru, OLA, Uber etc) can be asked to start exploring the possibility of introducing electric cars as taxies for travel within cities. This will help reducing carbon emission in big cities.

We have ample solar energy in India. I feel that we must make use of solar energy in every area. Every city. Another important activity is water harvesting. It is a need of an hour.

my suggestion is to plant solar tree.. recently in my college it has been planted. it is the tree with solar plates on its branches rather then leaves. we can use it in parks and in public place.IN my college it is used for night light and as power source of wifi router.. also it is for small purpose but small things make larger one,.... also there should be some energy innovation competition in institutes.. recently i have an idea for highway lights and i am working on it...
