“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

IF Govt. give direct benefits to tax payers in filling return for installing the Solar power unit. It will encourage more people to install it & help us in saving energy.

Govt. should try to adapt best practices in this issue. Following are few examples - 1) Baltra Airport works only on wind and solar power http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/science/This-airport-works-only-on-wind-and-solar-energy/articleshow/48130021.cms 2) Install elect. energy generating tiles on railway stations, trains coaches, metros, cinemas and all other crowded place where ever possible. This tile converts mechanical energy to elec. energy. Eg - Piezoelectric Ceramic Tile

This will not only save water consumption but electrical pumping consumption. This maybe looked into as so much water and electrical consumption can be saved.

Energy saving can also relates to water supply and distribution. In Metro cities water is stored in overhead tanks of societies buildings for supply to residents. Take example of a 8 stored building. water distribution in most cases is uneven from 8th floor to ground floor due to gravitational force.Suppose flow rate for 8th floor is 15 litters per minutes it could be 30 meter per minute for ground floor. If there is some system regulate/control flow rate evenly for each floor water can be savbdm

Cycle lanes is important to promote cycles we can also give rebate in taxes by having concept of green credits which may accumulated by reducing petrol, diesel & CNG bills, buy buying local convenyance tickets, by buying energy efficient products, buying low polluting equipments and vehicles(like bicycle etc), using solar energy. These credits may be used to have deduction in income tax

hi,i would like to say that encourage BICYCLES rather than MOTOR CYCLES,SOLAR POWER,CNG based vehicles, inspite of using own transport use public transport it decreses pollution, and for traffic regulation, increase plant growth on road sides, and now a days water is the major problem to every one use it proper way.For all these problem govrenment has to motivate the public

Hi, I would like to recommend the govt to build a small city which will have only Bicycles as a private transport, and other public vehicles running on CNG can ply for emergency or other purposes. Advantage: City dwellers will remain fit due to cycling. Pollution goes down - no traffic issue. Encourage use of public transport. Pedestrians can walk without tension. Prototype t idea in small scale in Amravathi's small area (upcoming Andhra pradesh city) to see benefits.

Give 200% income tax rebate for those who travel on monthly pass of bus/train. Rebate should be given for those who travel even in private monthly pass bus. Take tax from those to whom offices provide parking space.

U had wonderful job of providing led bulbs in delhi in instalments n sourcing it by tender. With increased usage it's cost vil cm. Down. U shud make its use compulsory 4 all shopping malls, govt. Offices, psu's, prvt. offices vid area beyond a threshold limit. This vil go a long way in saving energy n bringing cost of led down.
