“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

Sir, can't we have this policy that we get solar panels installed in all the buildings that are there and that are getting built.otherwise that building doesn't get clearance from bank to get loans or from respective municipality. North america has sun only for six months but most of the buildings have solar panels where as most parts of India has sun through out the year but we don't do anything

Government Offices should lead the way in efficient resource use. Simplifying the protocols for conduct of public functions to begin with For eg: During formal Inauguration of any official function it is common to spend 1000/- to 2000/- on printing non bio-degradable flex banners. This when multiplied hundred thousand times results in unnecessary spending of public money.

Instead of focusing on new ways to conserve energy, focus must be laid on efficiently managing the available arrangements. -Introduction of wifi facility in localities where 70% + area is full of greenery and hence promoting localities to bring about more greenery in their localities! -Improvements in traffic system of metro cities can minimise a lot of energy consumption and pollution

When it rains, it literally pours in India and it also drains, floods, takes lives. When we need water for Agriculture, drinking, we donot have it. Why not we come with ways where in we save the water when it pours and use it when we need for Agriculture and drinking. Ants do this in Summer to save for winter. We used to do this in our olden days with rain water harvesting. May be it is time to make it a national policy to create national water reservoirs. - Jai Hind!

Why can't the government can convert each street to connect with solar energy since the climate of our country is mostly hot so we can save a large amount of power all cross the country
