Switching off appliances when not in use is a simple thing which each and every person can do immaterial of their ages. This will save a lot of energy.Usage of ACs in schools, colleges and offices ought to be minimised. Today we might lead a luxurious life with all these but in future we will've hard days. ACs are a threat to environment too.Solar panels have to be installed in as many places as possible.Car pooling is also an efficient method.

Nothing can beat solar energy in the grounds of energy conversion.
I suggest to produce electricity through solar panels only instead of coals etc.
This may be a huge expenditure but its for once only afterall its free throughout the lifetime....

I work in a MNC where we are dressed up in ties and suits requiring higher AC. Why not promote Khadi suits? PM himself looks so smart dressed in khadi. Encourage business heads to wear environment friendly dresses. If not practical daily, atleast once a day. So many organisations (software, etc) encourage casual wear to office especially on fridays. Why not request/encourage/make them aware the difference their wearing khadi can have on livelihood of so many people besides saving environment.

Incentivise all private schools, colleges & Hospitals to install solar power plant equal to the of load of electricity applicable for their set up. in this way they will use clean energy, save on commercial electricity tariffs and play role for conservation of energy and reduce carbon emission.

SIR IN MY POINT OF VIEW ENERGY SAVING CAN BE BEST DONE BY USING NATURAL SOURCE OF ENERGY AND AVOIDING AIR CONDITIONING DEVICES THAT ARE MAKING OTHERS LIFE SUFFOCATED USING CYCLE FOR A DISTANCE THAT CAN BE COVERED i.e. 5 kms AN AVERAGE MAN CAN GO ON BY CYCLE AND SO MORE SO THAT AIR POLLUTION CAN BE MAINTAINED TO SOME EXTENT AS WE SEE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE USES THE VEHICLE AS PER THEIR ECONOMICAL APPROACH SO INTO THE MAIN CONTEXT OF MY COMMENT I WANT TO SAY THAT POOR AND RICH ARE AS SAME AS BLOOD

sir, human lives and lifestyle is improving in villages also,we cannot impose restriction on excessive use,I suggest when we permit bore well we need to fix ideas about how we can recharge same in rainwater.our experts & researchers need to advance study on use of solar energy for cooking,or innovative ideas for existing methods to increase output.our R & D need to work full time to make & introduce solar panel small car, rickshaw.

In cities like Mumbai Delhi where large number of residential buildings/towers are there energy audit through respective state gov't agencies should be made mandatory. if such audit is done it will be known how much electricity, water is being wasted and if the suggested ways to plug the wastages are implemented many societies can save water, power and their respective bill will also come down.
