“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

I am a farmer. in the recent past I used 8 hours three phase electricity connection to water my fields through flood irrigation by extracting water from ground as its the only water source available. But I converted to drip irrigation. now I will be saving about 6 crores liters of water and about 53000 Units of electricity every year. And that to doubling my production.

1.We can use LED's, sensor operated appliances which switch off themselves when none is there. 2.We can save water by implementing a small primary water filter which could be used to filter low toxic water emitted from cloth washing, utensil washing, bathing etc. This would utilize water & reduce wastage. 3.Electricity could be saved by implementing low power consuming, high energy emitting appliances. 4.General techniques to conserve water & electricity must be practiced.

1.Having a switch for all electric devices excluding fridge near the door. So that one can switch it off while leaving house. 2.Promoting,glamorizing and using special grass curtains(outdated) in summer to minimize use of electricity. 4.Promoting and implementing ideas like sharing car instead of using cars for only one individual(saves fuel as well as money. This is already implemented at some places).

Its our responsibility to conserve our natural resources which we are using carelessly. To meet our aim of constructing a sustainable India it is important for us to continue the availability of everything which we have now to future.let's all follow 3R(reduce recycle reuse) policy. let all of us reduce our limitless use of energy resources to have a plentiful India in future.if we come to electricity as an energy resource dependency on electricity must be reduced at least fr some extent.

Please make electricity charges (per kilo watt hour rate) same all over India for both domestic and industrial use. give subsidy of electricity only through DBTL in adhar linked banks accounts to prevent leakages. those who are using free (theft) electricity should be stooped immediately to reduce heavy losses of electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs)

Bring all energy usage data on to a single data platform and provide a dashboard on how much an individual or an organization uses. Based on the pattern, there could be a recommendation engine that could be built to recommend some meaningful tips to save them

Self retrospection is the best source to bring in awareness. Let's use technology to bring in that. encourage or provide subsidy for the house owner fitting IoT (internet of things). These IoT would provide meaningful insight on the usage of these resources and provide detailed pattern on what they use and how they can improvise themself. More the data, more the suggestion can be given. To get more and relevant data, we need IoT kind of things to be encouraged
