“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

we have to target the Youth esp. the kids, teens. govt may issue some guidelines to tv channels like channels for kids esp. cartoon channels, channels of teens as they are the change.the kids of today are very much affected by the cartoons. it may prove to be a revolutionary change as if some programmes of awareness about cleanines and energy conservation are shown. our women community are fond of daily soaps govt must also use some adds to create awareness and their benifits

Government should take strict action against misuse of electricity in government quarters and offices. Since it is free, it has been misused upto a great extent. Each office/household should be charged from their pocket for consumption above certain cap. Free electricity encourages use on conventional inefficient appliances like coil heaters.

One can save lot of electricity by turning off the tube light, fans etc. etc. while not in use. Do not pass on this responsibility to others but take charge of the same. To save fuel the best thing one can do is take a day off from automobile and ply by walking or cycling or common transport system. It can be MRTS like metro if in metros.

7.Switch light bulbs inside and outside the home to compact LED 8.When buying a new appliance, look for the ENERGY STAR label. ENERGY STAR products use less energy than most appliances. 9.Install solar panels for energy. 10.Prefer public transportation or share transport, it save your lots of money and also save the environment.
