Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

the Centre must abolish all imposts on coal and oil products and create a national energy exchange where they are freely bought and sold; that will minimise the costs of energy. If it must impose taxes, they must be the same per Btu for all forms of energy and only on energy consumed by final users.

It would be useful if a fuel card is introduced by every fuel company to which, the consumer can transfer money from his bank account as and when needed and use it for transactions in Petrol Bunk, this will prevent the fuel surcharge levied on consumers using their debit cards. The Fuel companies may charge a yearly maintenance fee for the fuel card.

Once the land is returned back to the farmer it must go through an appropriate rehabilitation process so it can go back to farming use in a very short time. In countries like Australia this is now becoming standard practice. It is important that only a small tract of land is taken over for exploration. This can be achieved by effficiently managing the logistics of the wellsite operation. The E&P operator must demonstrate how we will plan and manage his logistics efficiently

Compensation for the farmer/landholder has to ensure that he is also gainfully employed after giving up his land. In coutnries like Australia where landholdings are big this isnt an issue as the farmer still retains most of his land. In India this would be an issue. The farmer doesnt necassarily need lump sump payment but a means of keeping himself gainfully occupied after his land is taken over

Algae biofuel is a great opportunity for India. Algae is a Kamadhenu, to produce biofuel, power, ethanol and others. India has appropriate tropical conditions to grow algae. Integrated projects for cultivation of algae, production of bio fuel, production of power and ethanol can be set up all over India. It will promote rural employment in agriculture and make villages self sufficient in power, . Millions of dollars pumped abroad in algae development but nothing worthwhile done in India.

Dear All, hope the use of 'electric' vehicle will reduce the burden on oil import. Now manufacturers like 'Mahendra' provide solar re-charging stations. If government provides subsidy(removed recently) , people are ready to use electric vehicles.

according to the ststement of our Fin. Min. that all the income tax payers will not get the benefit of subsidi on LPG. my suggestion :- as 12 LPG cylenders are provided on subsidi rates then its better that, the income tax paye who so ever will produce the reciept of LPG cylender will get the benefit of that much amount in incometax.

Dear All, In petroleum sector around all imported products, Petroleum products is first number ,we import from foreign. So we can use ETHENOL is a very great & easy avbaliable from sugar-cane, As like as a brazil country we are blend ETHENOL in petrol is almost 40 %, but think only 10 % of blending ETHENOL in petrol, so we can save almost 60000 cr rupees in per year,In that way we are gave extra profit sugarane farmers, In sugarcane farmer also great oppournity to increase profit.

For every decrease in Crude Oil, we should reduce the price of necessary items ( Food and Transportation cost which were increased when Petrol prices were increased) The prices should enable the poor and below poverty lines to get more food in lesser prices. Pulses and Dairy items should be monitored. The Hotel /Restaurants prices should be slashed accordingly.
