Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

All street and highway lights are operated with electricity which is giving high impact to all of us. Suggesting LED tubes in place of fluorescent / normal tubes with solar power so that major saving on electricity can be achieved & used for other sources. With solar energy lighting with LED: will avoid major cabling network in all areas , Majority of our highways are not covered with lighting will also get light coverage & LED will give 50% saving of energy.

As Climate Control is a global focus area, reducing dependence on carbon-emitting fuel might add value (China is suffering from over dependence on oil/ coal). It might make sense to switch to innovative methods of green power generation. Check this article (http://www.ndtv.com/article/world/first-poo-powered-bus-hits-the-road-in-united-kingdom-627774)

Similar to the stock options allocated to employees in such E & P companies, mechanism should also be developed to give stock option to the local communities as appropriate based on company performance.

I have learnt that our country is one among the greatest producers of ethanol, a product which could be utilised for fuel. But the same is used for alcohol than for fuel. A proper usage of the same can save us from import cost for crude oil.

Here I wish 2 give a small idea which can help India 2 cut the consumption of Engine Oil almost half from d present consumption. Lets take an example of a Two wheeler. Generally a bike recommends 2 change its engine oil after 6000 KM,bt in India all d company service center misguide d customer 2 change Eng oil in between 2000-2500 KM. Actually they should advise for top up.See the unnecessary waste.
