Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

Electric Meter, may be dual type, that means we should be able to draw power from grid & also able to supply power to grid, if we have surplus power by any source. Smart meter- charging more in night & less in day light (as per phase of sun) may be developed & installed. Off Grid home/office concept need to be developed and encouraged to have self sustaining homes & communities.

Mira EV Electric Car ran for 27 hours, 1000KM on Lithium Ion Battery in Japan without a recharge.  Test run of India's first hydrogen-powered bus was held at the Liquid Propulsion System Centre (LPSC) of (ISRO) at Mahendragiriin Tirunelveli district on 2013-07-29. The test was carried out for 5 km in the presence of director of VSSC & authorities of Tata Motors which carried out the five-year research project.

Nuclear Power Plant is very dangerous solution to the energy problem. Its good to occur far away on sun. If it is very safe it may be installed near big cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, in this way Transmission losses will be reduced (I heard this from a Japanese & the city he mentioned was Tokyo). Its impossible to consider all events in initial Risk Assessment on which any of these plant is designed. Its safer to remain hungry than eating poisonous/ harmful food.

The goal for Solar Impulse 2 is to fly non-stop for more than 120 hours - five days and five nights - enabling it to cross the Pacific and Atlantic legs of its global mission. The operation in March 2015 will circle the globe eastwards, making numerous stops on the way.

Solar Impulse 2 carried out a flight lasting two hours and 15 minutes German test pilot Markus Scherdel said in a press conference at an air base in Payerne, central Switzerland. Built from carbon fibre, the 2.3-tonne plane has four 17.5-horsepower electrical motors powered by 17,248 solar cells studding its fuselage and 72-metre wingspan - as long as that of an Airbus A380. The forerunner was put through its paces in Europe, crossed the Mediterranean to reach Morocco without using any OIL.

Wind energy, hydroelectric power & wave energy is indirect form of Solar Energy. Approx. 30% of solar power reaching earth is used in water cycle. By transmission line between countries (Nepal Initiative), 24Hour power is possible to all. Battery with 30000 Cycle has been developed; this means 1 battery working for 82 Year, 1 recharge daily.

SOLAR energy in turns can supply to all our energy needs including transportation (presently 60% of fossil fuel is burnt for transporting). Indian Total Installed Capacity of about 250,000MW- requires only 500KM2 Land area. 01 Hr Solar Radiation received on earth is sufficient to provide energy to our world for 1 Year.

Solar Energy- Radiation received from Sun is 1.4KW per square meter. After factoring (night, cloud, efficiency etc) 250W/M2 is available. This means every Square Meter we are receiving equivalent to 500gm of Gasoline OR 6 Units (KWH) of electrical energy per day. Presently 1MW power plant per 2000M2 area is operational. Unfortunately this abundant and free source of energy is not being advocated due to ignorance or short sightedness. This energy in turns can supply to all our energy needs.

For Energy requirement- Renewable Solar Energy may be used-  Fossil fuels (Diesel, petrol, kerosene etc), including natural gas, coal, and petroleum, are composed of a complex mix of hydrocarbons, the remains of organisms that relied on photosynthesis millions of years ago. Thus, virtually all life on earth, directly or indirectly, depends on photosynthesis (Sun) as a source of food, energy, and oxygen, making it one of the most important biochemical processes known.
