Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

exploration and production is extremely lucrative business but only if we are ahead in pollution control technologies and research because this prevents any environmental complications that petroleum based industries create in the form of 'cancer alleys' as it happened in SOUTHERN USA due to air, water and ground water Pollution. Remember Human exposure and human welfare is more important the harmful economic activities. Government may give concessions for pollutioncontrolplants for companies.

Here the challenges are demand & supply along with the consumption pattern. We can save a lot of petrol, disel and cng gas just by better traffic administration and intense awareness through print & digital media.Through Traffic-if govt installs digital count down meter in each traffic post and instruction board to switch off the vehicle engine if above 10. and also some fine if not adhered. This little effort will save a huge amount of petrol, disel or cng being waste on our streets every day.

Waste of almost 2 % of consuption on toll booth queue. All should have smart card with respect of same vehicle. Prepaid can topup any time. With that not only time can save but also vehicle owner and govt both will get real picture of road and toll usage. Expense and every thing. Small and effective effort will same billion galon crude oil consuption.

Let's have a system wherein every time I purchase any petroleum product it will be recorded in a magnetic card which will be linked to my pan. People who buy more than 60000 worth of petroleum products should not be given any kind of subsidised petroleum product. People using less than 10000 in a year should be given tax rebate of 1000. It may help people start using the imported petroleum products judiciously.

Respected PM, For oil and gas exploration in Godavary near Kakinada by Reliance, Andhra Govt could not participated, not requested royality, but allowed a big pipe line to Gujarat. At least we welcome the initiatives of Reliance.
