Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

Since, public toilets in most of the cities are presently looked after by Government departments, they are dirty. Is it not possible to allow local people to maintain Pay and Use Toilets facility, for common use from their own property and Government can provide subsidy / financial assistance to citizens who wish to provide such facility.

पूरे भारत में यह नियम लागू किया जाना चाहिए कि जो भी व्यक्ति सरकारी नौकरी में है। चाहे वो कलेक्टर हो या SP या कोई अन्य कर्मचारी। सभी के बच्चे सरकारी स्कूल में ही पढेंगे और जिनके बच्चे सरकारी स्कूल में न पढते हो उन्हें सरकारी नौकरियों से निकाल दिया जाए। सभी लोग समझ सकते है कि जब जिले के कलेक्टर और SP तथा अन्य अधिकारीयों के बच्चे सरकारी स्कूल में पढ़ना आरम्भ कर देंगे, तो उन स्कूल में शिक्षा का स्तर क्या होगा और शिक्षक किस तरह की पढाई वहाँ करवाएँगे। सभी शिक्षक स्कूल समय पर आएँगे और अपना कार्यपूरी

It is to be informed to all that the local body, and the Govt needs to step up and push to all the leaders who are in villages / towns. These state govt representatives needs to take down the line. Govt involvement is utmost imp.

NE has been ignored for long. More focus from govt and opportunities for locals there will enable things happen. Tourism, infrastructure, oil exploration and other industries set up there can go a long way. Lesser influence from China and more of the feeling of Indian can help achieve amazing success in the NE frontier.

Sir our health care system need to be completely revamped . The docs are looting the people like anything because they have the pressure from the hospital mgmt and interdoctor compition to earn more money every month.The doctors act as mukiya and all the others in health wing are chelas as patients will listen only what doc tells. If people are having insurance he no need to pay a pie and we will get from insurance company you will get free treatment. so Evidence based practice is need of hour

Some observations to bring in local community for oil exploration in NER, 1.A legislation to compel employers / explorers from private and Govt. sector to consider the local community in their workforce, say minimum of 35 – 40% to start with. 2.A minimum wages policy & other benefits that properly enlist all the welfare requirements of the workforce. 3.A sustainable technology that causes minimum damage to the environment All these are to be in place before the issue of statutory licenses.
